Paleontologist visiting our class
The children and I decided to invite a professional over who is knowledgeable about fossils in the local context. He was able to provide answers to the children’s pre-planned questions as well as continue fuelling their interest on dinosaurs.
L-Arka ta’ Noe
This experience has catered children with great knowledge and skills with regard to the different types of forest animals and the care needed for such animals. Through this field trip, the children were introduced to the idea of ‘predator and prey’, habitats, as well as the diets of the diverse animals.

Counting in the Kitchen!
The principle on which this educational game focuses on is to build an enjoyable learning experience for children, as this enables them to be fully interested in the topic being implemented. Practicing this activity provides ample of opportunities that can evoke children to become active learners and to develop various skills which help to support their development.
A Helping Hand
This educational game is beneficial for children as it helps improves their hand-eye coordination, problem-solving, strategic thinking, memory capacity and become more computer-literate.
Sensory Activities
Attached please find pictures of the children participating in different sensory activities provided in class related to the dinosaur theme.
By providing multi-sensory activities through the use of the light-table, messy play and small-world play in class, all children were able to find new ways of describing their surroundings and experimented with new words to describe textures and materials. The objects being used were no longer described in a straightforward manner. On the other hand, such opportunities fired up the children’s curiosity and inquisitive self.

On a Tuesday during my observations, children initiated their interest in dinosaurs during lunchtime when Daniel started making roaring sounds. This originated an ongoing interest in children as they all starting roaring and naming some dinosaurs they already knew about. This interest kept on flourishing throughout the whole week, as they were given tabletop toys, building dinosaurs with blocks was a major captivating activity in class. Some were challenging themselves for who was able to make the longest dinosaur with blocks, others were making caves for hiding and few were engaged in role-playing with their built dinosaurs.
